Prophet Muhammad's Last Sermon

This sermon was delivered: 632 A.C (Masehi), 9th day of Dhul al Hijjah, 10 A.H (Hijriah). in the 'Uranah valley of Mount Arafat, Mecca.

After praising, and thanking God, he said: "O People, listen well to my words, for I do not know whether, after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.  

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Treat others justly so that no one would be unjust to you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. God has forbidden you to take usury (riba), therefore all riba obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital , however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer inequity. God has judged that there shall be no riba and that all the riba due to `Abbas ibn `Abd al Muttalib shall henceforth be waived. 

Every right arising out of homicide in pre-Islamic days is henceforth waived and the first such right that I waive is that arising from the murder of Rabi`ah ibn al Harith ibn `Abd al Muttalib.  

O Men, the Unbelievers indulge in tampering with the calendar in order to make permissible that which God forbade, and to forbid that which God has made permissible. With God the months are twelve in number. Four of them are sacred, three of these are successive and one occurs singly between the months of Jumada and Sha`ban. Beware of the devil, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights over your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under God's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Treat your women well and be kind to them, for they are your partners and committed helpers. It is your right and they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste...  

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship God (The One Creator of the Universe), perform your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your financial obligation (zakah) of your wealth. Perform Hajj if you can afford to. 

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.  

Remember, one day you will appear before God (The Creator) and you will answer for your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone. 

O People, NO PROPHET OR MESSENGER WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I am leaving you with the Book of God (the QUR'AN) and my SUNNAH (the life style and the behavioral mode of the Prophet), if you follow them you will never go astray.  

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness O God, that I have conveyed your message to your people.

Bukan berarti aku tidak cinta Indonesia bila pada hari ini aku posting dengan sedikit pelajaran bahasa Arab (buat yang belum tau, aku sekarang lagi ikut kursus bahasa Arab loh, seminggu cuma 1x, makanya harus rajin-rajin belajar sendiri nih).

Cinta Indonesia itu mencerdaskan diri sendiri dulu, lalu turut berpartisipasi mencerdaskan rakyat indonesia. Nah kalo udah pada cerdas, bisa mikir sendiri apa yang baik buat dirinya dan lingkungannya, bangsa dan negaranya, INDONESIA.
Bahwa berbuat baik kepada orang lain sesungguhnya akan membawa kebaikan pada diri sendiri, lah kan kita semua, makhluk ciptaan Tuhan, hidup di Bumi yang sama, sistem tata surya yang sama, semesta yang sama, yang kesemuanya saling ketergantungan (begitu sih yang ku pahami hehehe... :p)

Di era keterbukaan dan semakin majunya teknologi informasi, mudah sekali untuk jadi pinter (mendapatkan ilmu pengetahuan). syaratnya bisa baca, IQRA'! (Bacalah, dari akar kata Qa Ra A. eh, apakah kata "Qur'an" juga dari akar kata yang sama ya? terjemahannya "Bacaan"?)

Syarat selanjutnya MENGERTI yang dibaca :D *ya iyalah*,
nah jadi kalo kita orang Indonesia, yang ngertinya bahasa indonesia, bacalah bacaan yang berbahasa indonesia.
Tapi di internet kebanyakan berbahasa inggris??
Yaa belajar bahasa inggris donkkk!! dan bahasa-bahasa lainnya yang kita anggap perlu dan penting.

Banyak banget deh buku-buku dan artikel yang mau dibaca (cetakan maupun e-book). ga mungkin lah bisa baca semuanya? Nah, ini permasalahannya (masalahku juga :p). senang beli dan downloadnya aja, dibacanya ntar2 dan banyak yang belum sempat dibaca eh udah ada yang baru yang mau dibaca juga :D
Pinter-pinter aja cari bacaan yang bagus, prioritaskan mau baca yang mana dulu, sediakan waktu/dijadwalkan Waktu untuk membaca (Reading Time).

Oia, (khususnya buat sesama muslim) sebelum baca jangan lupa baca Bismillah (Iqra'=bacalah, bismi=dengan/atas nama, rabbika=Tuhanmu, alladziy=(dia)yang, khalaqa=menciptakan), semoga pengetahuan yang kita dapatkan bermanfaat.

Kalo kamu merasa ada bacaan yang bagus, Rekomendasikan ke orang lain, bisa diomongin langsung (diceritakan) atau melalui TULISAN, contohnya ngeblog ini.
Kalo punya banyak buku, pinjamkan ke orang lain, bikin perpustakaan gitu, kalo bisa gratissss :p

Dan yang terpenting adalah menerapkan/ mengamalkan pengetahuan yang kita dapatkan.
Jangan Malu dan Jangan Malesss!!! *aku banget nih.

Kemudian balik lagi ke Membaca, supaya mendapat pengetahuan baru, dan mengingat lagi pengetahuan yang (mungkin) terlupakan.

Dan untuk bacaan hari, dalam rangka hari kebangkitan nasional, perkenankan aku sampaikan kata-kata dari QS 74:2-7 

*(sebaiknya sih pake aksara arab ya? tapi aku belum bisa ngetik pake aksara arab, harus nyari programnya dulu nih biar ga asal copas)

2. Qum fa-andzir : Bangunlah lalu berilah peringatan! / Arise and Warn
(Qum=bangunlah, andzir=berilah peringatan, adalah fi'l amr=kata kerja perintah)

3. Wa Rabbaka fa-kabbir : Dan Tuhanmu, Agungkanlah ! / and your Lord, Glorify
(Rabb=Tuhan, adalah isim=kata benda +ka=kata ganti milik untuk kamu laki-laki)

4. Wa tsiyaabaka fa-thahhir : Dan pakaianmu, Bersihkanlah! / and your clothing, Purify
(tsiyaabun=pakaian, isim)

5. Wa arrujza fa-aHjur : Dan perbuatan dosa, Tinggalkanlah / and uncleanliness, Avoid
(al-rujza=?? perbuatan dosa?, isim karena diawali dengan "al", alif+lam)

6. Wa laa tamnun tastaktsiru : Dan janganlah memberi (dengan bermaksud) memperoleh (balasan) yang lebih banyak / and do not confer favor to acquire more
 (Laa=jangan, untuk membuat kalimat negatif/larangan/an-nahy)

7. Wa li-rabbika fa-ashbir : Dan untuk (memenuhi perintah) Tuhanmu, Bersabarlah! / but for your Lord, be Patient
(Li=untuk, preposisi/harf. Perhatikan Rabbu menjadi Rabbi, setelah harf maka isim-isim jadi berakhiran "i"/di-kasrah)

Pelangi Melbourne & My Name Is Red

Ku awali Mei ini dengan membaca novel "Pelangi Melbourne" (tepatnya sih buku ini ku beli di akhir April, tanggal 30 yang lalu). Penasaran aja sama isinya tentang apa, secara penulisnya kan Zuhairi Misrawi. Belinya di Gramedia Balikpapan, harganya Rp 66.000,- (mahal ya? ku browsing harga di jakarta 'cuma' 49.000,-).

 Dalam waktu kurang dari 2 hari selesai deh ku baca. Ga perlu ku review ya? cara penulisannya mengingatkanku sama Dunia Sophie, novel tentang filsafat itu loh. Nah di novel ini juga gitu, tokoh-tokohnya saling berdiskusi tentang toleransi. Jadi perasaanku, serasa membaca artikel daripada membaca novel/cerita. Dan kabarnya novel ini juga akan difilmkan. ternyata isu-isu tentang toleransi belakangan ini semakin rame aja ya?

Efek dari membaca novel ini adalah, aku jadi kepengen baca novel lain, yang disebut-sebut sama tokohnya, yaitu My Name Is Red, karya novelis Turki, Orhan Pamuk (telat ya? hehe... biarin aja lah, better late than never). Kayaknya seru nih novel, ku cari2 free ebooknya (sukanya yang gratisan :p), dapet deh disini

Gaya bener deh, mau posting short story en francais (le petit histoire pour les enfants), tapi copas :D browsing2, cari yang bahasa perancisnya mudah, sekalian buat aku belajar lagi, eh, malah nemu puisinya Kahlil Gibran, yo wis, ku posting ini aja ya?

Pas kemaren aku juga baru aja nengok temen yang baru saja melahirkan, anaknya cowok, belum dikasi nama, tapi katanya sih karena suaminya anak (waktu kuliah jurusan) Geologi, jadi mau dinamakan BUMI ;)

Vos enfants ne sont pas vos enfants.
Ils sont les fils et les filles de l’appel de la Vie à elle-même.
Ils viennent à travers vous mais non de vous.
Et bien qu’ils soient avec vous, ils ne vous appartiennent pas.
